- Several possible problems:

- 1 - defective modem. But check other stuff first.

- 2 - software not doing flow control (my first thought) or not a
- 16550 USRT (unlikely).

- 3 - problems at the ISP end which you can't solve. Try another ISP
- if possible, this is hard to find. One thing which will cause
- this is a too-small connection from the ISP to "real net." How
- eraly morning did you try? I like 5am for testing.
